Field Service Engineer IC

Based in either Auckland, or Christchurch, you will be responsible for conducting Preventative and Reactive Maintenance for Getinge equipment based at our customer sites, creating, and maintaining strong relationships with our customers, and supporting other Getinge Field Service Engineers as necessary.
This Field Service Engineer will provide technical support on the infection control products within ANZ. The field service professional will respond to emergency calls and will schedule preventive maintenance visits to meet service agreement obligations. You will be a self-starter who can independently manage your time and schedule, possess impeccable business acumen, and able to effectively communicate with all levels of the business. Occasional regional travel will be required for this role.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Building strong relationships with Getinge Customers;
- Conducting Preventative and Reactive Maintenance for Getinge equipment based at our customer sites;
- Supporting installations of Getinge capital equipment;
- Troubleshooting issues which present occasionally in equipment, and ensure that the product is returned to a fully functional level enabling the customer to continue their business operations;
- Liaise with the Getinge Service Coordination team prior to attending customer sites; ensuring that you are effectively prepared to resolve the customers issues;
- Completing Service Documentation within a mobile device
- Provide on-site and telephone technical service support for the installation, inspection, repair and preventative maintenance of products for customers within their territory
- Maintain positive, professional communication with customers, regional team members and the Technical Support group
- Document all activities in accordance with Service policies and procedures
- Provide technical assistance to the Sales and Clinical Education team
- Maintain all service contracts in accordance with service policies and procedures and actively pursue the renewal of existing contracts
- Protect company assets and maintain loaner and test equipment, spare parts inventory, and other company equipment and supplies in good condition and working order
- Build quality into all aspects of work
- Ensure compliance to all company quality and compliance regulations
Skills and Experience:
- A proven track record of going above and beyond for others;
- Are capable of and enjoy managing your own time;
- Are able to work under pressure to tight deadlines;
- Really strong communication skills;
- Enjoy working as part of a team;
- Have, at a minimum, the ability to gain a Electrical Service Technician (EST) Licence;
- A mechanical aptitude;
- A valid Driver’s Licence.
- Minimum 12 months experience as a field service representative in medical devices, biomedical, technical repair or a related technical field - desirable
- Technically proficient experience in using schematics, systems diagrams, and repair/replacement procedures to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate of all products in the territory
- Strong mechanical and electro-mechanical skills (hydraulics, pneumatics, motors etc.)
- The ability to be well-organized, and able to carry out tasks with minimum of supervision
- Strong Microsoft skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
