Bio-processing Automation Specialist  

Are you experienced in biotechnology, passionate about software programming, and energized by working directly with customers? If so, this role could be a perfect fit for you.

We are seeking a Bioprocessing Automation Specialist who will play a key role in educating, training, and supporting customers, distributors, and internal teams on Getinge Applikon’s bioreactor systems and software platforms.

In this position, you will configure, program, and document automation solutions—including algorithms and recipes—to meet customer specifications. You will also deliver hands-on training and support at customer sites, helping users maximize the value of our systems. Additionally, you'll take part in optimizing training materials, supporting product launches, gathering market feedback, and representing the company at industry events.

What will you do?

• Install and commission Getinge Applikon bioreactor systems and software at customer locations.
• Configure and program software, including automation algorithms and control recipes.
• Train customers, distributors, and employees on system use and application best practices.
• Conduct product trials and live demonstrations.
• Develop and maintain training programs and instructional content.
• Support the creation of marketing materials, presentations, and website content.
• Gather and report customer feedback to Product Management to inform product development.
• Represent the organization at customer meetings, seminars, and industry conferences.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

• Educational Background: MSc or HBO degree in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or a related field, with a strong interest or proven experience in software programming.
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with bioreactors and a solid understanding of bioprocess operations.
• Automation Experience: Proficient in using SCADA software to program and manage bioprocess recipes.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English (both written and spoken).
• Professional Attitude: Proactive, solution-oriented, and collaborative mindset with strong customer focus.
• Mobility: Possession of a valid Category B driver’s license and willingness to travel internationally.
