Start your career as an Mechanical Engineer at Getinge Applikon

 

The position of Mechanical Engineer is part of the Custom Projects department. This department operates within a matrix organization, involving project leaders and project teams. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the specification and drafting of bioreactors in the broadest sense. The design process starts with the P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram) and project specifications. Based on these, you will create a 3D model of the entire system in Plant 3D, including construction drawings, parts lists, inspection protocols, and data sheets. Additionally, you will be deeply involved in development and design within the project team and provide technical support to the project manager by maintaining contact with suppliers.

 

What will you do?

 

  • Designing and developing bioreactor systems, resulting in a 3D model.
  • Elaborating the 3D model into isometric drawings.
  • Performing and reporting strength calculations (FEM) in compliance with ASME and PED-CE certification.
  • Creating construction drawings, parts lists, inspection protocols, and data sheets.
  • Reviewing drawings and parts lists.
  • Handling and presenting change proposals.
  • Analyzing and resolving malfunctions and errors (2nd level support).
  • Registering and reporting quality deviations to the project leader and immediate superior.
  • Ensuring proper adherence to norms, regulations, and procedures.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience
 

  • Mechanical Engineering at the HBO / WO level.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, such as Plant 3D, Inventor.
  • Knowledge of and experience with bioreactor systems counts as a plus.
  • Affinity with the mechanical, electrical, and software aspects of product development.
  • Knowledge of norms for mechanical design and drafting.
  • Good leadership and organizational qualities.
  • Efficient and accurate.
  • Good social skills.
  • Good verbal and written command of Dutch and English.
