Field Service Engineer

Job description

Do you have a experience with electrical engineering and a service oriented approach? Read on, and see if this position fits you!


As a service engineer you will be close contact with our with customers and distributors regarding the provision of support and the decisions regarding the replacement of defective parts. The prime goal is to prevent malfunctions and fix the equipment in the event that they do occur. We are looking for a service engineer who puts customers first and carries out his/her duties according to ISO-standards and Applikon servicing procedures. You will also commit to continued self-development so that the service goals can be met in team context. Are you a service-oriented individual and does the above description fit you? Key tasks and responsibilities could be, but are not limited to:


  • The determination of causes of malfunction and the repair of defective products
  • Handling of servicing requests from customers and distributors.
  • Drafting of service reports for work done
  • Providing administrative, technical, and operational support
  • Reporting on data and lessons learned obtained from customer visits, to the Technical Support Team Lead
  • Management, monitoring, and maintenance of service tooling
  • Proper observance of norms, regulations and the internal quality system
  • Reporting on quality deviations


Knowlegde, skills & experience

  • Electrical engineering at the Dutch MBO level, preferably supplemented with Mechanical Engineering and/or Precision Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of the functionalities of the type of equipment to be maintained
  • Excellent social skills
  • Flexible, accurate, and independent
  • Willing – as appropriate – to make customer visits at home and abroad
  • Command of Dutch and English
  • A Dutch B driver’s license
