Bioreactor Sales Specialist – South
We are looking for a proactive Sales Specialist to join our dedicated Life Sciences sales team to develop and expand our range of bioreactors & associated equipment in the South of the UK.
In this key, field-based sales role, you will be responsible for supplying bioreactor systems and supporting customers in the pharmaceutical and microbiology industries. Working closely with our Getinge Applikon production site, located in Delft (NL), where our advanced bioreactor systems are developed and produced, you will have the opportunity to make a difference by developing and growing our market share within Biopharmaceutical / Pharmaceutical Production, Biomedical Research, Medical Devices and Laboratories in the territory. You will collaborate with customers, market researchers and internal and external stakeholders to share, build together and meet our goals.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Build strategic relationships while engaging tactically within divisional or departmental groups to develop and successfully close capital equipment, servicing and spares business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain Global Key Accounts within the territory.
- Seek out and develop new customers / new business opportunities within the territory
- Develop and maintain existing accounts, seek out end of life equipment in order to generate new enquires.
- Seek out and build business relationships with KOL’s in our industry.
- Own the development of opportunities through to receipt of Purchase Order and ensure detailed and thorough transition to Life Science Projects or Service teams.
- Coordinate and prepare meetings and presentations for both external customers and internal business partners, including presentations to Senior Leaders.
- Ensure CRM is up to date to ensure accuracy of sales pipeline and alignment to sales KPI’s.
- Meet and consistently exceed all sales targets set by the business.
- Co-ordinate with internal departments to maintain customer satisfaction levels.
- Work closely with customers and external partners to offer insightful and educational learning sessions to stay ahead of the curve on new opportunities within the segment.
- Feed back to the business on market trends to enable future business strategy development.
- Collaborate with and maintain strong relationships within Service and Projects to deliver a world class, end-to-end approach.
- Attend and organise, in partnership with MARCOM business partners, regional and international trade shows related to the industry.
- Develop territory marketing strategies in order that we enhance our market presence.
- Be an ambassador for the Getinge brand.

Your experience and knowledge includes:
A background in technical scientific sales or in cell/microbial culture. You will ideally have 2-3 years’ experience either in specialised scientific equipment sales, or industry/academia in cell culture or fermentation, including industries related to vaccines, regenerative drugs, antibodies, body tissues, biopharmaceuticals and biosimilars, enzymes, food & beverages, nutraceuticals, biofuels, biochemicals or bio-plastics. Your commercial experience preferably includes Sales Training, Presentations Training, Negotiating, Training Delivery and Account Management.
A full training package will be provided as considered essential for this challenging role.

- Excellent understanding of the NHS procurement processes and tendering
- It is essential to have excellent written and spoken English.
Other Essential Requirements:
- UK Requirements: Eligibility to work in the UK
- Driving Licence: Required to hold a valid UK drivers licence.
- Travel: Ability to travel within the UK and abroad with overnight stays as and when required.
- IT: Must have at least intermediate level Microsoft Office skills namely Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Other Information:
Will be required to attend training courses when Getinge UK Ltd believes it is necessary to fulfil your role within the Company.
To help meet our goals of becoming CO2 neutral by 2025, we travel only if we must. In this role, you will be required to travel up to 50% to visit customers, other offices, and to support the sales process domestically and internationally.
