2nd Shift - ON-SITE 10a-8pm

 

The manager in charge of planning and managing the Distribution Center’s (DC) Outbound Operations performance and updating / communicating process improvements with customer services and senior management.

The manager is responsible for the execution of optimization strategies, and coordinating primarily Outbound DC functions, as well as liaising and working with sales, manufacturers, and various Quality Assurance and Regulatory departments primarily for Outbound Operations, while at the same assisting the Sr. Site Manager on overall operations.

The position will be responsible for staffing and coaching employees for the 2nd shift, as well as for developing and executing the strategy for optimizing, including automation for US distribution. The Manager is required to be onsite throughout the work week and oversee multiple shifts.

  • The outbound crew has two stager hours. Crew that starts at 10:00 and one that starts at 11:00
  • Standard working hours are from 11:00 am – 8:00pm, however both the Senior Site Manager and this position report to work at least an hour in advance or regular work hours.
  • Overlaps with Sr. Site Manager during the hours of 11:00am - 3:30 pm where a handover of first shift activities takes place and the Manager oversees the warehouse independently from 3:30pm until closing.
  • Warehouse shifts overlap with 1st shift hours being 7:00-4:00 and 2nd shift 11:30-8:00

 

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Manages incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and good condition of shipments.
  • Resolves all order issues, ensures all the international paperwork are completed and the shipping of merchandise per regulation.
  • Manages overall warehouse supply needs, cardboard, pallets, shrink wrap and so forth.
  • Plans and initiates process improvement projects for the Outbound Operations, setting objectives to meet the costs, productivity, accuracy, and timeline targets among others.
  • Ensures Quality standards are met and tracked in all Outbound Functions. As well as making sure efficiency and timeliness targets are met the in daily service levels.
  • Liaises and executes optimization strategies in the Outbound Operations as laid out by the Director, Senior Engineer and Senior Site manager. This includes proposing improvements as well as presenting new processes to the Outbound Operations
  • Propose, build and or track the necessary key performance metrics for the efficient running of the department.
  • Effectively manages and coordinates allocated departmental and fiscal responsibilities to the team
  • Partners with the Quality and Regulatory Team on issues and resolutions required in the Outbound Operations. 
  • Identify and partner with Getinge’s Sales and Purchasing Teams to address any discrepancies in the Outbound Supply Chain process and facilitate efficiency in handling customer orders.
  • In partnership with the Senior Site Manager, responsible for preparing and presenting analytics/reporting on Outbound Operations, as well as a reporting cadence.
  • Ensures a clean and safe work environment where compliance is met on all SOPs and training requirements
  • Works to met and improve on the annual budget through saving projects that enhance the process and reduce the cost of operation
  • Ensures all the warehouse plant and equipment is in proper operating condition, all the necessary preventative maintenance is completed.
  • Responsible for staffing and management of the team, with direct oversight over the 3 Leads in the team, and ensuring that the performance standards are cascaded across all levels.
  • Partners with the Human Resources Department to manage the performance and salary review process for the Outbound team, as well as ensuring employee engagement activities are implemented.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Warehouse Operations and Distribution.
  • A minimum of 3 years managing multiple employee levels within a Distribution environment.
  • Proven knowledge of distribution software which includes proficient in SAP, Excel, MS Word and WMS functionalities.
  • Proven knowledge of inventory/warehouse management systems.
