The ESG regulatory landscape is evolving rapidly which means that a dynamic understanding of these shifts is essential to support the company’s strategic goals. To ensure that Getinge’s products align with current sustainability related regulatory requirements, while proactively preparing the organization for future regulatory developments is therefore essential.

We are therefore recruiting a Senior Environmental Compliance Manager!

 

As part of the corporate Sustainability team, the Senior Environmental Compliance Manager will actively be monitoring upcoming and existing ESG related laws and regulations including but not limited to ESG related due diligence and requirements as well as regulation related to relevant topic areas such as: competition/ anti-trust, corruption, human rights, social and environmental obligations.

 

The position is eligible for remote/hybrid worrk and can be based at any of Getinge´s sites in Europe.

 

Key duties and responsibilities: 

 

Regulatory Monitoring and Interpretation: 

  • Proactively monitor, interpret, and communicate existing and forthcoming environmental regulations pertinent to our products. This includes working closely with Corporate Legal and other stakeholders to keep-to-date with policy changes at both national and international levels. 

  • Develop strategies and processes to ensure compliance, mitigating risks related to environmental product regulations 

Environmental Compliance Strategy Development: 

  • Develop and implement compliance plans to achieve both short-term and long-term regulatory goals. 

  • Lead projects to audit, monitor, and document compliance efforts, evaluating gaps and providing support closing these gaps 

  • Support in due diligence requirements towards suppliers 

Product Material Compliance: 

  • Support the organization in oversight and analysis of product material compositions to ensure adherence to environmental standards. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Build and maintain strong networks within the company to drive a collaborative compliance culture. 

  • Partner with stakeholders across product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs to ensure our products meet environmental compliance standards. 

  • Engage in regular communications with external regulatory agencies, industry groups, and suppliers to stay ahead of regulatory changes and opportunities for sustainable innovation

  

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably within the med- tech industry or a similar highly regulated field. 

  • Proven expertise in product regulatory compliance, with strong knowledge of material content and product safety standards. 

  • Ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, dynamic, heavily matrixed corporate environment and to work collaboratively and influence change within the organization 

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional networks across multiple departments. 

  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills to handle multiple requests and deadlines

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a focus on proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent presentation, project and time management skills
