We are seeking a Customer Manager for the Logistics EMEA region. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with global trade regulations related to imports and exports at Getinge Logistics AB. You will establish and maintain effective routines to collaborate with product responsibility teams, ensuring the accuracy of customs related master data and driving improvements in data quality. 

 

About this opportunity

Customs Manager is a new role in the logistics team for the EMEA region and the purpose of the role is to increase our knowledge and capabilities in all stages of the customs procedure. Initially the focus will be to establish new routines, improve existing routines and data quality in this area. Next focus is to explore insourcing of customs activities and to establish a team to manage these activities. The Customs Manager role will report to the Senior Director Logistics, EMEA and be a part of the logistics management team for the EMEA region.

 

The position can be located in one of our offices in Getinge, Malmö or Gothenburg in Sweden or in our office in Eindhoven in the Netherlands. It will require some business trips both domestically and abroad.  As Customer Manager Logistics, you will have the opportunity to work remotely 1-2 days a week, providing you with both flexibility and a modern and adaptable approach to work-life balance. 

 

What you will do

  • Actively work with the product owners to improve the quality of harmonized tariff codes and country of origin data in SAP.
  • In collaboration with product owners establish and maintain routines for Long Term Supplier declarations.
  • Manage, direct, and evaluate performance of customs brokers.
  • Develop guidance and training around global trade.
  • Keep current on regulations and changes related to global trade and take the necessary actions to address any changes of these that have an impact.
  • Responsible to manage external audits from customs authority.
  • Perform audits on import and export entries, make corrections when needed and archive results.

 

In the next phase, after insourcing of customs activities, the role will expand and include people management and responsibilities below:

 

  • Responsible for development, engagement, and wellbeing of you team members.
  • Responsible for scheduling and prioritize tasks in the team including overall resource planning.
  • Responsible for annual performance review with the team members.
  • Following up with team on action plans, improvement activities and individual targets.
  • Drive development of the organization, people and processes of all areas needed to ensure efficient and resilient operations.

 

You will bring

  • Bachelor or Master degree in the area of Logistics/Supply Chain Management/International Business Administration or similar and a few years’ experience from similar tasks in in equally complex environment
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in dealing with HS classifications, duties and tax regimes.
  • Experience and knowledge in export control.
  • Knowledge and user experience in SAP GTS is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong command of written and fluently spoken English.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and utilization of problem solving is required.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
