Job Function Summary:

The Service Operations Specialist serves as a high-level escalation resource responsible for providing high-level technical expertise in support of field service staff.  They participate in the development of training classes and technical resources for new equipment.

 

Job Functions: (Primary “essential” duties and responsibilities)

  • Provides telephone technical support and troubleshooting assistance on Getinge products for internal customers.
  • Serves as highest level LS Service Organization escalation resources
  • Works across functions (Service, Sales, Engineering and Marketing) to assure effective deployment of new equipment and systems.  This will include providing technical support to Senior Service Representatives and Area Service Managers in facilitation of the escalation process.
  • Provides input and technical support for quality and reliability issues to appropriate functions based on information received in writing or via telephone.  Work with Quality, Engineering and other company functions in a team effort to address and resolve these types of issues effectively.
  • Provides support for the Training and Development department by assisting with the development of training sessions for new equipment being released to the field and for new hire training.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of documentation and pricing PM agreements and PM packages.  Assist service management and/or Getinge supply chain in the development and release of equipment modernization packages.
  • Assists Marketing as needed in the development of programs and supportive literature to promote Service offerings and equipment.
  • Assists with the development of service and technical notifications and other forms of communication.  Convey this information effectively throughout the Service organization.
  • As a member of the Service Commercialization Team, provide technical input that results in the successful release of Getinge equipment into the applicable marketplaces.
  • Assures that operational expenses are controlled responsibly and within budgetary guidelines and policies.
  • Assists Service management in formulating strategies, tactics and action plans in support of corporate objectives and assume responsibility for special projects and related duties as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Demonstrated high-level technical understanding and repair proficiency of company products within the scope of the position.
  • Computer literacy; familiarity with information technology concepts, personal computers, Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications.    
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation experience to include leading OJT or classroom training sessions
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain a valid passport for the purposes of international travel.
  • Ability to travel (>50%) may be required depending on the location of the assigned geographical area and business need.

 

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years directly related Field Service Experience.
  • 3 years Lead Field Service Technician or Field Service Specialist experience (or Equivalent).
