Job Function Summary:

Provide overall sales and technical support for the Sterile Transfer business segment of Getinge’s North America Life Science.  Apply knowledge of the organization’s services, products, and marketing techniques in pursuit of responsible profit margin and market share growth to achieve Getinge Life Science business targets. Collaborate with sales colleagues to establish strategies for interacting with priority accounts and developing key accounts.   Conduct and manage remote sales of Getinge’s Sterile Transfer products across the combined U.S. and Canada regions to OEM as well as Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology customers.

 

The territory will cover the West consisting of WA, OR, CA, HI, ID, MT, WY, NV, UT, CO, AZ, NM, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, TX, MN, IA, MO, AR, LA, WI, and IL. Must reside in territory, located in the contiguous United States, and be close to a major airport.

 

Job Functions: (Primary “essential” duties and responsibilities)

  • Achieve sales, growth, and profit margin targets for the Sterile Transfer business Segment within Life Science.
  • Conduct in person & remote sales of Getinge’s Sterile Transfer products across the combined U.S. and Canada regions to OEM as well as Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology customers.
  • Target existing customers and new customers to grow market share.
  • Work cooperatively with sales and BA personnel to formulate strategies, tactics and action plans for comprehensive and optimum account penetration of Sterile Transfer products
  • Accurately review Sterile Transfer RFQs to include (but not limited to) qualifying and defining the scope of projects through customer interactions and drafting quotations.
  • Provide support for the Life Science Sales teams to include (but not limited to) joint Teams calls, site visits, technical solutions, bid reviews, and factory interactions.   
  • Develop account-planning activities, monitor and update plan progress, submit updates and reports on schedule.
  • Effectively use company-provided customer relationship and internal business management tools (e.g., Salesforce.com, Teams, SharePoint etc.).
  • Communicate effectively with BA and Factory personnel regarding product value propositions, and applications. Conduct virtual customer-facing sales discussions.  Travel for in-person meetings as required.
  • Provide market feedback to the BA R&D and innovation teams.
  • Establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers, behave in a professional and responsible manner at all times in accordance with Getinge’s Code of Conduct and Getinge Values.  Respond to all customer and internal staff inquiries in a timely manner. Comply with all company SOPs, policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training seminars, meetings and on-the-job training programs.  Demonstrate an understanding and an ability to apply concepts and knowledge obtained from these training and skill development sources.  As required, visit job-sites and attend job-site and/or engineering meetings, technical and logistical representative of the company.
  • Foster and maintain a business climate that establishes, maintains, and expands positive and cooperative working relationships with customers and internal personnel.
  • Maintain personal competence for meeting job responsibilities through effective use of product information and technical data.  Be proactive in identifying opportunities for career development, education and training.
  • Participate in conferences and trade shows.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

 

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in application based conceptual and strategic selling capital equipment and/or consumables, and services while providing customer-centric solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in in RFP and RFQ preparation, analysis, and presentation.
  • Knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing, especially final fill/finish.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical concepts as they apply to aseptic transfer.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to promote positive, professional, and respectful, exchanges with internal and external contacts.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, strategic planning and scheduling skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent skills using Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
  • Ability to take initiative work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license required. Must travel as required up to 50% in continental US and Canada. International travel will be required; must possess, or be able to acquire, required government travel identification documents for domestic and international travel.

 

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • 2 years sales experience preferred in Pharmaceutical/Biotech market in consumables and/or equipment sales.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, applied science or similar technical discipline. 

 

Salary range: $90,000- $110,000, depending upon experience and location + 10% bonus target
