About this opportunity
Our product area Critical Care is located at our site in Solna outside Stockholm and in Feldkirchen in Germany. Here we have full cycle development and final assembly of our products within Ventilation, Anesthesia and Advanced Monitoring.
In this role, your primary responsibility will be to drive and support the full product life cycle of test systems used in manufacturing and quality assurance of our sub assembled and assembled medical devices — from initial software architecture & design, software development and validation to ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
This role plays a key part in ensuring test setups are reliable, precise, and aligned with engineering and regulatory requirements across product development and production environments.
You will be part of a team of test system developers within our production organization and report to Manager Production system.
What you will do
Test System Development and Support
- Set the architecture, design, develop and deploy test system software mainly using LabVIEW.
- Adhere to coding standards, documentation practices, and development workflows for test software.
- Develop and maintain test cases and test procedures based on product requirements, risk analysis and regulatory standards.
- Drive development of modular, reusable, and scalable LabVIEW frameworks, ensuring robust integration with data acquisition hardware and control interfaces.
- Ensure test system compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, GAMP 5, and internal quality standards; author and review validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system-level issues in production and development environments.
Life Cycle Management
- Support the entire life cycle of test systems—from design and deployment through maintenance, upgrades, obsolescence planning, and end-of-life decommissioning.
- Maintain accurate system documentation and revision control
- Support change control processes, risk assessments, and traceability throughout the test system lifecycle.
- Perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality to support project timelines and technical needs.
- Plan, track, and report on test system development schedules, risks, and milestones.
- Train and mentor other stakeholders on the correct use of test systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for test coverage, system reliability, and process optimization.
This position is based in Solna, Stockholm and may include international/regional travelling. This position is eligible for a hybrid setup but mainly based on site.
You will bring
To be successful in this position, we believe that you have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in test system development, with extensive hands-on expertise in LabVIEW (CLA certification strongly preferred).
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and issue tracking (JIRA).
- Knowledge of hardware communication protocols (I2C, RS232, CAN & USB).
- Experience in pneumatic control systems incl reagulators, valves and pressure/flow sensors
- Strong background in risk analysis, system-level debugging and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards e.g. ISO 13485 and FDA QSR
- Fluency in Swedish and English, orally and written
