We are now in the beginning of a new project to develop a huge upgrade of our Anesthesia devices, used in operations rooms all over the world. You will play an important role throughout the product development cycle, from concept to final product.
About the role
Getinge is well known for providing a safe and pleasurable user experience in all their medical devices. As an Interaction designer/Usability Engineer at Getinge, you will play a crucial role in nourishing and developing that legacy. You will work in a cross-functional team, including design, engineering, clinical experts, product owners and regulatory affairs, to ensure that our product meet the highest standards of usability, safety, and effectiveness.
The role is also strategic, which means that you will internally drive and communicate our vision for the user experience. This role is perfect for you who have ideas and visions and long for the right conditions to implement them.
Main responsibilities:
- Conduct user research, including interviews, observations, and usability testing, to identify user needs.
- Design the user experience with our common Getinge design system (GUIDE) as a solid foundation.
- Collaborate with the product development team to define user interface requirements and design specifications.
- Execute usability testing, analyze data, and provide actionable recommendations to improve the user experience.
- Conduct risk assessments related to the use of the device.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in usability engineering and human factors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction design, Human Factors Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in conducting user research and usability testing.
- Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma is an advantage.
- Experience of medical device industry is an advantage. As well as familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines related to medical device usability (e.g. IEC 62366 and FDA Human Factors Engineering Guidance.)
You are a true team player and excellent in building relations. You are used to work against deadlines and often exceeds expectations. You will have a broad responsibility and high ability to prioritize. We hope you have a curious mindset and willing to develop and improve routines and procedures.
