Responsibilities

• Design SQL databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability
• Develop database architectural strategies at the modeling, design, and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements
• Collaborate with system architects, software architects, design analysts, and others to understand business or industry requirements
• Performance Tuning
• Develop data models for applications, metadata tables, views, or related database structures
• Develop advanced and optimized SQL stored procedures and functions
• Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements
• Create mission critical software with all necessary error handling
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience    

• 7+ years of experience in the full life cycle of designing and developing databases and applications using MS SQL Server
• Relational Database Design/Development
• Excellent understanding of T-SQL programming and Microsoft SQL Server
• Error handling via TRY/CATCH with event logging
• Expertise in sophisticated relational database report design, development, and maintenance
• Experience using reporting tools such as SSIS, SSRS, PowerBI
• Experience working with clinical data
• Experience with MS Team Foundation Server is a plus
• Experience with MS Service Broker is a plus

Education    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology or equivalent experience
