Territory Manager, Life Science

The Territory Manager, Life Science (LS) is responsible for the sales, growth and support of all Getinge LS equipment, consumables and service contract across Canada. They will be responsible for all product lines, which includes Isolators, Sterilizers, Washers and Bioreactors from lab scale to production scales. 

 

The Position

This role is responsible for:

  • Drive sales of all product categories throughout Canada to achieve forecasted territory sales goals.
  • Represent Getinge Life Science professionally and positively with customers and strategic partners.
  • Work cooperatively with sales management, application specialists and service personnel to formulate strategies, tactics and action plans for comprehensive and optimum account penetration, and for equipment bundling opportunities.
  • Develop account-planning activities, monitor and update plan progress, submit updates and reports on schedule as required.
  • Effectively use company-provided customer relationship management tools (e.g., Salesforce.com, dashboards).  Work cooperatively with respective Customer Support Operations, Service, and Project Management personnel to ensure optimum product performance and customer satisfaction. Ensure adherence to company quality system processes and protocols.
  • Relay observed market trends and competitive intel to sales and product management teams.
  • Organize and execute product demonstrations, engaging company resources as appropriate.
  • Successfully work in a team environment with Field Service Technicians, Engineers, Product Managers, and Application Specialists.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, contractors, architects, project manager’s et al., regarding product utility and installation requirements.
  • Establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers, maintaining professional and responsible manner at all times in accordance with Getinge’s Code of Conduct and Getinge Values.  Respond to all customer inquiries in a timely manner. Comply with all company SOPs, policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with Life Science Sales Operations team to qualify and respond to RFPs.
  • Maintain personal competence for meeting job responsibilities through effective use of product information and technical data provided by the company
  • Participate in training seminars, meetings and on-the-job training programs.  Demonstrate an understanding and an ability to apply concepts and knowledge obtained from these training and skill development sources.
  • Participate in regional and national trade shows when required.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by management.

 

This role will be located in Greater Toronto Area.

 

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for the following experience, knowledge, and abilities:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in complex, high-dollar biopharma industry capital equipment sales.
  • Knowledge of the Getinge Life Science equipment portfolio, including bioprocess.
  • Working knowledge of bioprocess and fermentation technology a plus.
  • Bilingual preferred (EN/FR), but not required.
  • Solid understanding and application of business concepts, procedures and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed business plan/quota, and able to develop sales plans for all required opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and listening skills.
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word and Outlook and familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Ability to travel internationally (Passport required).
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle (valid driver’s license required).
