Job Overview
This position reports to the Sr. Facilities Manager and will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Facilities team overseeing the execution of a preventive and predictive maintenance schedule, ensuring maximum reliability and runtime of all facilities functions, utilities, and related equipment ensuring proper site support.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Facilities Supervisor candidate must possess extensive technical knowledge of building and utility systems, operations, and maintenance. Must be experienced in preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, scheduling, and planning, have experience in facilities team supervision, team building, training, and development.
- Must be able to coordinate and schedule the Facilities response to on and off hours’ repairs, with a priority on requests (system alerts/alarms) related to environmentally controlled areas.
- Candidate will drive, document, perform and share regular reviews of the facilities team’s KPI concerning execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities utilizing the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software.)
- Will conduct on-going reviews of all Facilities related procedures for completeness, accuracy, and effectiveness making real-time recommendations for improvements.
- Shall conduct regular employee evaluations have oversight and/or execute required facilities team and contractor training.
- Supervise and coordinate the response to plant wide hazardous, non-hazardous waste removals and spill cleanup and disposal.
- Supervise the monitoring and utilization, of the Qualified BAS and NON-Qualified BAS coordinating response to alarms, adjusting and documenting system parameters while maintaining environmental conditions as per procedures.
- Be fully trained on and maintain a quality-focused approach to the facility.
- Support budgetary and energy saving ideas, cost, and value improvements projects.
- Support and execute building emergency safety plans.
- Responsible for managing and maintaining all proper paperwork including but not limited to facility alterations, agreements, building permits, licenses, and certification of occupancy insurance documents.
- Supervise the critical and non-critical spare parts, tools, and equipment programs.
- Oversight on proper inventory of maintenance and housekeeping cleaning supplies, materials and tracking burn rate.
- Support facility space allocation and layout concerns as needed.
- Support Facilities Engineering from planning through completion of short and long-term projects, including support of the specifications and drawings organization and the support of outside vendors scheduled for on-site project work.
- Support on-site Café and Pantry operations.
Minimum Requirements
- A high school degree or equivalent is required, and either an associate’s degree or relevant technical certifications with a minimum of 10 to 15 years in building maintenance or related field.
- 3 - 5 years of demonstrated leadership and experience supervising building operations and facilities teams.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expertise in all aspects of day-to-day Facilities operations including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.
- Experience in an FDA regulated industry or ISO certified organization including GMP, GLP and GDP is preferred.
- Experience with Vendor management working with outsourced service providers.
- Knowledge of fire protection, equipment, and maintenance (sprinklers and alarms).
- Candidate must be self-motivated, results-driven, an excellent communicator being able to multi-task in fast-paced environment, acting with professionalism while striving for enhanced operational performance leading to successful facility improvements and initiatives.
- Candidate needs to be oriented towards customer service, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency by ensuring the Facility and the Facilities team complies with internal procedures plus local, state, and federal regulations.
- Candidate will support and schedule 24/7, on-call response to emergency repair situations.
- Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Systems: (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint), Building Management System (BAS), OSHA and ADA compliance rules, regulations, and procedures.
