Job Overview

The Senior Director Human Resources CA/CS acts as a strategic and tactical business partner for Getinge Cardiac Assist & Cardiac Surgery Product Areas. The position supports the Wayne, NJ Headquarters based functions to facilitate the achievement of the business goals through all HR activities. This role has overarching responsibility for all HR activities for the two businesses, and partners closely with the Acute Care Therapies (ACT) leadership and functional leaders of Cardiac Assist and Cardiac Surgery for the US businesses.

The Sr Director will be accountable for working with the leadership to develop a positive organizational culture, aligned to the Getinge Behaviors. This position is a key driver and leader in ensuring the effective development and implementation of HR strategies, policies and processes. It actively participates with leadership by way of counsel to influence, develop, and effectively recommend follow-up on appropriate solutions and business alternatives.

The position is eligible for a company vehicle and is required to work out of the Wayne, NJ Getinge Headquarters 3-4 days a week to allow strategic partnership and collaboration with onsite Senior Leaders.

 

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Serve as advisor to the Senior Business Leadership on all matters related to human resources issues.
  • Provide HR guidance and support to the Cardiac Surgery & Cardiac Assist leadership team, management and employees on a variety of strategic initiatives and growth opportunities, including, but not limited to:  business objectives and goals, employee relations, workforce planning, compensation, performance management and organizational development.
  • Establish trust and credibility by understanding the culture of the organization, knowing its people, being aware of business objectives and providing a point of view that reflects the HR implications of business decisions.
  • Provide HR Leadership oversight and act as key stakeholder for all audits
  • Provide direction and guidance to leadership and management regarding performance potential analysis and documentation including:  performance evaluations, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary notifications.
  • Responsible for directing the implementation of the annual calibration process in partnership with the leadership team.
  • Provide direction and oversight to the Vice President(s) of the respective Product Area (s), and the Executive Leadership team.
  • Oversee compensation implementation including annual merit increases, promotion increases and salary adjustments, and bonus payouts.
  • Plan and implement individual, team, and organizational developmental efforts necessary to achieve the business goals. These activities are driven by the business needs and might include individual coaching and development planning, team development interventions, organizational restructuring counsel and support, etc. at all levels.
  • Provide input into the development of HR policies and processes in the areas of employee relations, leadership development, workforce planning, compensation and benefits.
  • Partner with HR leaders in the Global and Corporate Human Resources groups to create economies of scale in HR processes, services and solutions, and strategizing on process improvements.
  • Responsible for being an active, productive and collaborative member of the product area leadership team. Leverage resources across departments, corporate sites and within HR to efficiently meet customer needs and drive the business.
  • Work with management to foster an environment that provides ongoing performance and career development feedback and coaching to all employees.
  • Create and promote strong values and ethics within their assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate integrity, business acumen, and interpersonal skills to work with individuals and management on their HR decisions and actions.
  • Apply a range of traditional and non-traditional problem-solving techniques to think through and solve issues creatively.
  • Have a clear understanding of the business and HR vision and what this means for own objectives and tasks. Think beyond the short-term; can conceptualize and communicate HR strategies by drawing linkages and understanding with business customers
  • Create and promote strong values and ethics within their assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate integrity, business acumen, and interpersonal skills to work with individuals and management on their HR decisions and actions.
  • Lead or participate in corporate HR and business projects including M&A activity impacting businesses supported.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or other related field and/or combination of education and relevant experience is required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years prior HR experience, which includes a minimum of 10 years in HR leadership, business partnership and employment law—or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated track record in compensation, organization development and recruiting supporting a professional sales organization, within the medical device or other regulated industry.
  • Extensive business experience, able to be effectively translated to the role, will be considered in lieu of direct HR experience for the right candidate.
  • Proven leadership capability and goal-oriented management style with capability to manage in a matrix organization with international business partners.
  • Experience in effectively managing a team and driving excellence.
  • Expert knowledge of HR policies, and federal/state legislation related to employment law and practices and general HR administration.
  • Track record of achievement and experience supporting an operational organization.
  • Track record of achievement and experience in a Quality and Regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult effectively at all levels of an organization on HR issues and practices.
  • Demonstrated track record of accomplishments and contributions within an HR organization.
  • Proven ability to design and redesign HR processes and programs to create a competitive advantage for their organization.
  • Prior working knowledge of organizational effectiveness interventions, change management, executive coaching and leadership development, and facilitating reengineering and or reorganization efforts is desirable.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong, proactive, consultative skills which result in people seeking them out, knowing they will provide appropriate advice with a value-added perspective.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to apply a game changing and forward thinking mindset in line with the Getinge behaviors.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Travel requirement of 5% which includes international travel.

The base salary for this position is a minimum of $ 194,000 and a maximum of $265,000 plus a 35% annual bonus
