Job Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis for Acute Care Therapies (ACT) division in the US market. The role will produce financial information related to historical, current and future financial performance and produce financial plans/ forecast based on performance expectations. The Senior Finance Analyst will also perform analysis utilizing financial tools/at hand and recommend alternative courses of action where needed. This individual will be, together with Sr Finance Director ACT, responsible for financial statement accuracy, which involves a strong accounting background and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience. The position will partner with cross-functional senior leaders frequently and requires an understanding of how commercial strategy and market trends can influence the financial result.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Responsible for financial planning, reporting, and analysis for ACT division
- Reviews journal entries and assists in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at functional and departmental level.
- Perform financial analysis of complex data (not cleansed/structured) requiring manipulation and recommend alternatives courses of action.
- Monitor functional and regional financial statement versus forecast and prior year. Highlight material variances in key metrics such as orders, sales, gross profit, operating expenses.
- Understand gross margin drivers/detractors, understand rate volume mix impact.
- Produce and distribute monthly financial reporting package to several internal stakeholders (Global Commercial Team, North America Leadership Team, North America CFO)
- Understand key internal (balance sheet) and external (market) risks and opportunities and how these can impact the financial result.
- Perform financial analysis, identifies risks and opportunities to meet forecast/sales targets by interacting with sales and service teams and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial/ commercial tools (e.g. sales funnel, order book, historical sales trends)
- Prepare sensitivity analysis in key finance metrics by modeling changes in key variables.
- Collaborate with customer service and supply chain teams to ensure accurate order delivery dates.
- Ensure all activities are compliant with internal control policies and suggest additional controls when needed.
- Collaborate with pricing/governance team to define pricing impact outlook for our major customers and contracts.
- Track inventory evolution, understand drivers/detractors and flag material deviations to yearly trends. Understand inventory types (e.g. finished goods, goods in transit). Provide financial support in ACT inventory reduction initiatives to improve Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO)
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- A minimum 7 years of related work experience in Finance and Accounting or combination of education and relevant work experience.
- SAP or other ERP systems experience required
- IBM Cognos Controller or other reporting system preferred.
- Experience with Cognos BI & Business Intelligence Tools (Microsoft Power BI)
- Strong background in financial planning and analysis.
- Ability to synthesize and communicate information clearly.
- Strong ability to scale from transactional details to strategic thinking, always keeps the big picture in mind.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team leading evidence.
- Structured and able to run multiple processes at the same time.
- Self-starter with great attention to detail and ability to work in fast paced environment.
- Drive efficiency & demonstrate continuous improvement thinking.
- Understands the importance of meeting deadlines.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, and intermediate skills in Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
The base salary for this position is a minimum of $89,000 and a maximum of $120,000 plus a 10% annual bonus
