Job Overview

The Senior Human Resource Manager/Business Partner will act as a key strategic partner for the assigned Medical Device business in the Cardiac area, as well as an HR Operational Excellence owner, ensuring the local HR team achieves internal operational expectations and deploys HR best practices aligned with other Getinge HR teams.

Business partner responsibilities include workforce planning, compensation, employee relations, performance management, and team development. This position actively collaborates with business leaders by way of counsel to influence, develop, and implement appropriate solutions and business alternatives. Additionally, this role partners with HR functional team members to align on HR best practices to be driven within the relevant business areas.  The ideal candidate has a strong HR operational background and proven strategic partnership abilities that positively influence the organization, business leadership, and HR team.

The position is required to report to the Wayne, NJ headquarters 3-4 days a week.

The position may have one direct report.

 

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

 

  • Provide direction and oversight to the functional leader/s of the respective Business Function(s). Partner with leaders, and HR functional teams, to create economies of scale in HR processes, services and solutions, and strategizing on process improvements and operational excellence.
  • Partner with key stakeholders in integrating mergers & acquisitions into the organization, partner with supporting HRBPs as needed.
  • Lead and provide counsel to client groups on team/employee realignment and integration activities. Provide direction and guidance to all levels of management regarding employee performance, corrective action and investigation of issues, and the management of performance plans. Manage employee relations’ activities for the assigned client group, including employee recognition, and consistent application of human resource policies and procedures.
  • Build rapport and relationships by interacting effectively with employees at all levels, demonstrating the awareness of their needs and responding with the appropriate actions. This includes proactively driving and participating in culture initiatives.
  • Participate in the development of business strategies and assists in developing human resource strategies, goals and objectives to support the overall business.
  • Develop operational policies and procedures that affect personnel within the assigned organizational unit. Interpret and execute policies that affect individuals within the assigned organizational unit or department. Partner with the Human Resources Shared Services/Compensation team to develop salary, grade and job description modifications for client group members. This includes coordinating bonus and merit communication.
  • Partner with the Human Resources Shared Services/ Benefit and Payroll teams to coordinate the handling of employee leave management related activities.
  • Ensure that recruiting processes are aligned with company objectives and directives; provide guidance and direction to client group manages, and internal/external Talent Acquisition service providers.
  • Implement employee requisitions by identifying resource requirements, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Coordinate with client Hiring Managers, HR Shared Services and Compensation on the offer process. Responsible for preparing offer letters for respective client groups and ensuring that supporting documents such as job descriptions and relocation agreements are communicated whenever required.
  • Maintain daily interaction with all levels of the organization and occasionally contact with outside governmental agencies, vendors and attorneys.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with DOL, OSHA and EEO regulations etc.).
  • Represent the HR function at business meetings, ensuring that business decisions and strategies consider employee engagement and impact.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or other related field and/or combination of education and relevant experience is required.
  • Advanced degree desirable.
  • A minimum of 10+ years’ experience with strategic Human Resources while also leading performance management, corrective management, leave management, employee relations, and staffing.
  • Experience supporting R&D and Engineering teams preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Employment Law is required.
  • Working knowledge of Benefits and Compensation preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven HR Management experience in the Medical Device and/or FDA regulated environment.
  • Solid, working knowledge of HR policies, and federal/state legislation related to employment law, practices, and general HR administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult, communicate effectively and influence at all levels of an organization on HR issues and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to project manage.
  • Prior working knowledge of organizational effectiveness, change management, executive coaching and leadership development, and facilitating reengineering and or reorganization efforts is desirable.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills at a high level of accuracy and follow through.
  • Must have working knowledge of general employment law, ADA, HIPPA.
  • Able to effectively manage and adapt to change and shifting priorities, and follow-through to reach timely solutions.
  • Must have attention to detail and demonstrate the ability to multi-task when necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills and HR reporting capabilities
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point or equivalent software applications.
  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) Certification or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) desirable.

The base salary for this position is a minimum of $ 142,000 and a maximum of $180,000 plus an annual bonus of 25%
