Paragonix Technologies markets organ transportation devices that safeguard organs during the journey between donor and recipient patients. Our devices incorporate clinically proven and medically trusted hypothermic preservation techniques in a novel suspension system to provide unprecedented physical and thermal protection. Our product portfolio spans cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal preservation devices to improve donor organ quality and extend donor organ transport time.  Paragonix also markets transplant services and organ screening to the transplant community.

 

 

Job Overview

 

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for leading strategy and execution for key products within the abdominal transplantation portfolio. This role drives both upstream and downstream product management activities, shaping product strategy, defining product requirements, and ensuring successful commercialization across the product lifecycle.

The Senior Product Manager will partner closely with R&D, commercial teams, clinical stakeholders, and executive leadership to translate voice-of-the-customer insights, clinical evidence, and market dynamics into differentiated product strategies. The role requires strong cross-functional leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to influence across a matrixed organization.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

 

Product Strategy & Portfolio Leadership

 

  • Lead development and execution of product strategy and portfolio roadmap for the abdominal portfolio.
  • Identify and evaluate new product opportunities, including next-generation innovations and potential inorganic growth opportunities.
  • Develop business cases to support strategic investment decisions and portfolio prioritization.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership on portfolio direction and market positioning.

 

Upstream Product Development

 

  • Translate clinical insights, user needs, and market opportunities into product requirements and development priorities.
  • Partner closely with R&D to guide product development from concept through launch, serving as the voice of the customer throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Plan and execute usability studies and customer validation activities in partnership with engineering and clinical teams.
  • Maintain deep understanding of transplantation science, clinical literature, and evolving preservation technologies.

 

Downstream Product Management

 

  • Lead development of product positioning, messaging, and value propositions for abdominal products.
  • Partner with commercial sales and clinical support teams to identify opportunities to drive adoption and portfolio growth.
  • Support global product launches and lifecycle management activities including product improvements, competitive positioning, and market expansion.
  • Develop training, sales enablement materials, and supporting tools to ensure consistent product communication.

 

Market & Competitive Intelligence

 

  • Conduct primary and secondary market research to inform strategy and product development decisions.
  • Monitor competitive activity through review of clinical publications, regulatory filings, financial disclosures, and intellectual property activity.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for product strategy and differentiation.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership

 

  • Serve as the central link between R&D, marketing, manufacturing, operations, regulatory, and commercial teams.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure successful product development, launch, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead complex initiatives that require coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders.

 

Team Development

 

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior product management team members, including Associate Product Managers.
  • Support development of product management capabilities and best practices across the organization.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • 4–6+ years of professional experience in product management, product strategy, or front-end innovation
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, technical field or business-related field

 

 

Other Requirements

 

  • Strong understanding of the medical device development process
  • Fundamental understanding of biology or human anatomy
  • Experience translating customer insights into product requirements and development strategy
  • Experience supporting global product launches and commercialization activities
  • High attention to detail, especially in the front-end innovation cycle, with an emphasis on connecting observations and insights to actionable design inputs
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse functions and expertise areas
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and compelling messaging
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills

 

Travel: 20–30%

Primary location: Waltham, MA

US BASED SALARY - The base salary range for this role is $170,000 - $180,000 plus 20% in annual bonus.
