Field Service Engineer - Surgical Workflows

Territory Covered -  Oxford area base to cover South West and Midlands

 

Job Purpose:

To effectively carry out routine service, testing and repair on a range of Getinge products, establish and maintain good customer relations by demonstrating a professional approach to work.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • To cultivate a positive rapport with the customer, demonstrating first class interpersonal skills in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  • To carry out mechanical servicing of equipment.
  • To carry out routine testing of Getinge equipment to the relevant standards as stated in terms and conditions of the client’s contract.
  • To carry out electrical/mechanical fault finding of equipment.
  • To carry out calibration of equipment, where necessary.
  • To maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts, completing stock checks when required.
  • To produce quality documentation for submission to the customer.
  • To maintain regular communication with the internal Service Department.
  • To ensure the company equipment is being used and looked after correctly and that it is kept in a safe condition. To report all faulty equipment or equipment out of calibration.
  • To ensure that correct returns and non-conformance report procedures are followed.
  • To organise and prioritise a continuously changing workload, ensuring that all customers’ calls and enquiries are replied to.
  • To ensure safe and tidy working including use of protective footwear, work wear and PPE where required for local site working rules.
  • To problem solve, combining initiative with a practical and logical approach to all aspects of the position.
  • To provide sales leads to Service/Sales Manager
  • To produce reports using company used software.
  • To submit accurately completed expense claim forms, with supportive documentation, on time.
  • To maintain telephone contact with the office on a regular basis and with line manager.
  • To assist the team members as and when required/requested.
  • To undertake any other duties as and when required.

 

Quality System Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To observe the company rules for employees.
  • To read and comply with current relevant legislative documentation.
  • To observe the company policy on Health & Safety at Work.
  • To observe the company policy and procedures on Quality Management Systems.
  • To co-operate readily, politely and amicably with other company personnel.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum City & Guilds Levels 1 & 2 or an equivalent qualification in electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience as Field Service Engineer desirable, ideally within a medical industry.
  • Good knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Good knowledge of Mechanics, Electrics, Electronics and Hydraulics is desirable.

 

 

Knowledge/experience

  • Previous knowledge and experience of service/testing medical devices to the appropriate standards.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance/service engineer environment preferably within the medical industry.
  • Position ideally suited to Ex-forces engineers.

  • Flexible and able to adapt under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Genuine interest in people and be able to deal with customers in a friendly manner.
