We are seeking a strategic, insight driven, and highly collaborative leader to drive the business area’s strategic agenda and performance management framework. In this role, you will act as a key architect of long-term value creation, partnering closely with senior leadership to ensure strong strategic execution, robust performance management, and high quality decision support. 

 

As deputy to the CFO, you will play a critical role in shaping the business area’s direction, leading strategic assessments, enhancing financial analytics, and ensuring operational excellence across performance processes. 

 

The role requires international travel. Travel anticipated to average 10% annually but may vary depending on project needs. The role will preferably be placed at our office in Gothenburg or Getinge, Halmstad.

 

Your role 

As Director Strategy & Performance Life Science, you will focus on the following fields: 

 

Strategy & Value Creation 

  • Lead, challenge, and refine the business area’s strategy and investment priorities. 

  • Drive long-term planning processes and ensure alignment with business objectives. 

  • Conduct strategic market, competitor, and performance analyses to support prioritization and decision making. 

  • Lead strategic project assessments, M&A pipeline screening, financial modelling, and integration support. 

 

Performance Management 

  • Own the business area’s performance framework, including forecasting, long-term planning, and monthly performance reviews. 

  • Ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency in financial and performance analytics. 

  • Drive improvements in controlling, data quality, automation, and performance tracking. 

 

Business Intelligence & Insights 

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and BI tools enabling actionable business insights. 

  • Prepare and present strategic, financial, and performance materials for management and the board. 

 

Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Serve as deputy to the CFO with decision authority on selected initiatives. 

  • Lead and mentor junior team members. 

  • Collaborate closely with the Strategy & M&A Manager to ensure alignment across strategy and performance activities. 

 

Who you are 

To fit in this role, we believe that you have the following skills and capabilities: 

 

  • Bachelors or master’s in finance/economics 

  • 10+ years of working experience within relevant field. 

  • Deep analytical and financial expertise with significant experience in strategy, controlling, or performance management. 

  • Proficiency in BI tools, KPI frameworks, and financial modelling. 

  • Previous experience of working with external auditors. 

  • Demonstrated leadership potential and the capability to act when needed. 

  • Fluency in English and proficiency in Swedish.
