This is one of the most important leadership roles on the Getinge site with significant responsibility for driving innovation, product development, and cross‑site collaboration.

WIS is part of our Life Science Business Area, providing a broad portfolio of solutions within contamination control, sterilization, isolation, and laboratory equipment for customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and biomedical research.

Your leadership will directly influence the next generation of global contamination control and sterilization solutions.

About the role

You will lead the Engineering department at our Sterilization site in Getinge, Sweden, and have functional responsibility for the Engineering organization in Tournefeuille, France. Together, the teams cover R&D, Design-to-Order (DTO), product improvement, mechanical and electrical design, automation, process engineering, and design change.

This senior position plays a critical role within product strategy, operational excellence, and cultural alignment across both sites. International travel is expected including frequent travel to the Tournefeuille site.

Your responsibilities

In line with the Life Science division's strategy, the WIS Engineering Director defines the development plan for the Engineering function and oversees its implementation. You will be a key contributor to taking our product roadmap to the market and bringing added value through innovation. In DTO projects, you help find smart solutions that meet cost, quality, and timeline expectations. With a strong customer focus, you also play an important role in strengthening collaboration, harmonizing ways of working and driving efficiency across our two sites.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead the Engineering function across both sites, ensuring high performance, collaboration, and long‑term capability building.

  • Drive the R&D roadmap, secure strong project governance, and deliver projects on time, on budget, and with high quality.

  • Harmonize tools, processes, and organizational structures to create synergies and improve efficiency.

  • Strengthen cross‑site collaboration and develop a unified engineering culture.

  • Build competencies for the future by developing leaders, growing capabilities, and driving continuous improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Your background:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering.

  • Experience in R&D, mechanical/electrical engineering, industrial automation, and product development.

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership is required.

  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams and driving organizational development.

  • Experience from Design‑to‑Order environments is an advantage.

  • Comfortable working in a complex matrix organization.

  • Fluent in English; skilled in engineering and office software.

Who You Are
