Solution Architect (m/f/d) – Hamburg

THE CHALLENGE

We are modernizing a medical device software platform, transitioning from a legacy C# framework to a modern, containerized, server-based web architecture.

Multiple Scrum teams, multiple Tech Leads, continuous delivery.

THE ROLE

You won’t write production code or design low-level components. Instead, you ensure the entire product succeeds technically at scale.

YOUR IMPACT

Set the strategic technical direction

• Own the target architecture and modernization roadmap
• Define decomposition strategy, rebuild vs. refactor, stability during migration
  
  

Enable Tech Leads

• Align architectural decisions across teams
• Act as escalation point and facilitator
• Provide context, constraints, and strategic guardrails
  
  

Bridge business and technology

• Translate product roadmap into technical enablers
• Surface constraints early and support prioritization
• Bring clarity to architectural dependencies
  
  

Represent the product technically

• Participate in the DHS Architecture Board
• Communicate architectural decisions to leadership
• Ensure sustainable modernization and regulatory compliance

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Own solution architecture and modernization strategy
• Drive platform-level, cross-team architectural decisions
• Maintain ADRs and lead threat modeling
• Support regulatory and cybersecurity requirements

TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT

• Kubernetes, Docker
• C# / .NET, Blazor, MAUI
• MSSQL
• Using C4 model, clean architecture, transition architectures, DevSecOps

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Must-haves:

• Degree in CS, engineering, or similar
• Proven experience in strategic technical leadership across multiple teams
• Strong background in scalable systems, integration, DevSecOps
• Experience with large-scale modernization
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in regulated environments (MDR, FDA, GDPR)
• Background in medical device software
