Based in Melbourne, Victoria, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Account Manager – Life Sciences to join our team on a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract as a parental leave cover. In this role, you will drive sales growth across Victoria and Tasmania for our Life Science (LS) product portfolio — including laboratory and pharmaceutical-grade washers, sterilisers, and consumables, while building and maintaining strong relationships with customers in research, academia, and pharmaceutical sectors.
This role offers the chance to expand your experience beyond Healthcare, as the Life Science business operates independently of TGA regulations but continues to uphold Getinge’s high standards of ethics and compliance.
About the role:
As the Account Manager – Life Sciences, you will:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve growth targets across the VIC/TAS region.
- Manage existing customer relationships and identify new business opportunities within universities, research institutes, and pharmaceutical organisations.
- Present and promote Getinge’s LS product range — including washers, sterilisers (Lab, Research, and GMP-grade), data loggers, sterile transfer solutions, and consumables.
- Translate customer needs and user requirements into tailored equipment solutions by collaborating closely with our dedicated Project Manager, factory teams in Europe, and shared service functions.
- Manage and maintain accurate sales data and opportunities within Salesforce CRM.
- Partner with Customer Service, Operations, Marketing, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless customer experience and project delivery.
- Conduct all activities in line with Getinge’s ethics, compliance, and quality frameworks.
About you:
You are a results-driven sales professional with a passion for science, technology, and customer engagement. You enjoy understanding complex products and helping customers find tailored solutions. You bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in a sales role within the Life Sciences, Laboratory, or Pharmaceutical industries.
- A proven track record in capital equipment sales or a related technical field.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn detailed product functionality (sterilisation, washing, validation processes).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels — from lab technicians to procurement and facility managers.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage complex, often long sales cycles.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
