Job Overview

 

Strategic and operational responsibility for leading and managing all aspects and activities associated within the purchasing function.  Support strategic/transactional sourcing processes for all direct and indirect spend, integrate procurement standards and activities for top suppliers, and responsible for delivering annual savings targets for the organization.  Responsible for manage supply base to include supplier performance and new sourcing activities.  Support manufacturing operations, R&D, manufacturing engineering and other relevant functions.  Site purchasing representative for coordinating/executing ACT and Getinge Group Purchasing activities.  Provides direction to “on site” Global Segment (Plastics) Sourcing Specialist to execute Getinge’s purchasing and supplier global strategies.

 

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Primary supply chain liaison with R&D, Engineering and Marketing and other cross functional departments regarding the sourcing of strategic products, assemblies, components and services.
  • Manage transactional purchasing activities for both direct and indirect components, raw materials and services
  • Manage and continue to develop process for selecting and approving appropriate suppliers that will provide highest quality, on time, and at the lowest total cost.
  • Execute global plastics segment-specific strategies to streamline and consolidate Getinge’s supplier base with a focus on strategic partners that align with Getinge’s quality, ESG, compliance and continuous improvement goals.
  • Update Getinge/ACT KPIs with site specific data and participate in all assigned ACT/Getinge purchasing meetings/projects
  • Participates in supplier audits, visits and evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain supply chain partnerships with key suppliers.
  • Manage process for understanding business risk related to purchased parts and implement plans to mitigate high risk areas.
  • Responsible for oversight of all purchasing activity.
  • Works with the production planning and direct customer service teams to insure internal & external customer demand is met.
  • Develop strategies for maintaining appropriate inventory levels at lowest cost with least business risk (safety stock, consignment, VMI, etc.)
  • Manage repair, refurbishment and replacement of Atrium/Getinge owned injection/extrusion mold tooling to include tooling database management.
  • Manage tooling capital budget planning, execution, tracking and coordination with finance
  • Negotiates and manages supplier contracts, supply agreements, and terms and conditions for all key suppliers.
  • Evaluate employee performance by conducting gap analysis of expected competencies; develop plan to close gaps and mentor employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, succession planning, compensation reviews, and other related Human Resources responsibilities.
  • Lead, manage, coach and mentor all reports with a focus on employee satisfaction, employee development, inspiration and retention.  Develop team goals in coordination with company goals. Communicate and manage these goals throughout the year.
  • Input and accountability for department budget.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or Business preferred, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six years of relevant functional experience in Sourcing, Purchasing, or Procurement required.
  • Must be able to communicate (read, write, and speak) English.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team to deliver expected outcomes.
  • Knowledgeable of commodity strategies including spend and supply market analysis, cost savings methodology, requirements planning and performance reporting.
  • Understanding of industry Quality Control Standards (ISO, AQL) and/or experience in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications are required (Word/Excel).
  • Knowledge of Oracle a plus.

  • Professional certification(s) preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to completely maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.
  • Ability to interpret, understand and challenge technical documents (materials specifications, drawings, defect analysis, etc.).  
  • Experience developing and leveraging strategic business relationships with vendors/suppliers.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and technical skills.
  • Highly effective problem-solving skills.
  • Highly effective skills at analyzing operations data and developing and recommending programs that support Company strategies.

 

Supervision/Management Of Others:

  • Responsible for the development and management of Purchasing/Sourcing team members.
  • Manage a team of approximately 9 direct/indirect reports

 

Internal and External Contacts/Relationships

  • Internal coordination/cooperation with all cross functional groups
  • External supplier relationship management

 

Environmental/Safety/Physical Work Conditions

  • Ensures environmental consciousness and safe practices are exhibited in decisions
  • Use of computer and telephone equipment and other related office accessories/devices to complete assignments
  • May work extended hours during peak business cycles
  • Up to 25% local, domestic and international travel required
  • Position is approved for Smart Workplace/remote

Annual Salary of 140K to 160K depending on experience and 10% STIP
