Are you our new Director of Innovation & Technology at Getinge Critical Care in Solna? At Critical Care we develop tomorrow’s intensive care products and equipment, and we are in an intensive period of change and expansion. In this role you will be a key player within our R&D organization and have the possibility to take an active part in shaping our future products. The Innovation & Technology team has deep knowledge in our products, legacy and work together with external partners like hospitals and tech-companys to create the solutions for tomorrow always keeping the customer need in focus.

About this opportunity
In this position you will be responsible for securing that we have the right setup to drive innovation with deep technical expertise, rapid prototyping, usability and concept development. Today, the team consists of about 12 highly experienced engineers with a broad expertise in the technology and clinical applications of Ventilation, Anaesthesia, Data Analysis, Simulation, prototyping with mechatronics etc. The R&D organization within Critical Care currently consists of 250 dedicated employees in Sweden and Germany.
The position gives you the opportunity to join a winning team, helping to continue the growth of our market leading and life saving products. You will interface with a wide variety of stakeholders on all levels.
Your main responsibilities and tasks will be:
- As a member of the R&D management team, participate in the portfolio discussions and drive the Innovation funnel
- Implement continuous improvement through new ways of working, and when needed apply Change Management
- Drive partnerships with Universities, Hospitals, Tech-partners and relevant Institutes world-wide
- Develop team competences and drive the strategy of Innovation forward to secure Getinge’s future competitiveness
- Daring to dream and feel comfortable being Visionary, but keep your feet on the ground
The position is based at our site in Solna but offers the flexibility to work from home when suitable, though not more than 1-2 days per week. The role requires occasional international travel. You will be reporting to the Head of R&D in Critical Care.
You will bring
To fit in this role, we believe that you have the following experience:
- PhD or MSc within Engineering or relevant field
- Excellent leadership skills, and experience from leading a cross-functional team for integrated technology development
- Experience from Concept development with rapid prototyping, speed design reviews, customer workflows and UX validation
- Experience from leading a team where you are more the facilitator than the expert, they are the experts
- Experience from implementation of TRL (Technology Readiness Levels) will be useful
- Fluency in Swedish and English, written and spoken.
- Experience of working in a regulated industry and especially development of medical device
- A proven track-record of cross-company collaboration aligning expectations and stake holder management
