We are looking for a Team Manager with long experience in leading SW Development teams for Embedded Products in an R&D environment.
About this opportunity
Getinge Critical Care R&D develops and maintains advanced medical devices, including ventilators, our Intra‑Aortic Balloon Pump, anesthesia machines, and sophisticated hemodynamic monitoring systems. We are now looking for a leader with a strong track record of successfully guiding and developing teams within an agile product development environment, with a particular focus on Embedded Software.
Our R&D function is implementing a Line organization that provides our operational agile Value Creation Teams with the diverse competencies and disciplines needed to form fully cross‑functional teams. This model enables us to strengthen collaboration, enhance value creation, and ensure that our products continue to meet the highest standards of innovation and quality.

You will report to the Senior Manager System SW, Critical Care. This role is primarily office-based, with an expected on-site presence of 3–4 days per week.
What you will do
As the Team Manager for Ventilation, you will be responsible for leading a software development team of approximately 20 engineers. You will ensure that the Value Creation Teams within the Ventilation Program have the appropriate software development competencies and sufficient resources required to deliver a complete product solution to the market on time. You will also have a Product Owner role in one of the Value Creation Teams, which some of your Employees belong to.
Our products are complex medical devices that need extensive cooperation between engineering disciplines and other functions. In your role, you need to drive and encourage cross-functional cooperation in all stages of the development cycle.
Your responsibilities will include to:

Act as a key driver and change leader within the R&D organization, promoting ownership, accountability, commitment, and engagement.

Work with continuous improvement of workflows to shorten lead times, stimulate innovation, and ensure high‑quality software and solutions are delivered according to plan.

Support the development of complex medical devices that require strong collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines and functions.

Promote and enable effective cross‑functional cooperation throughout all stages of the development cycle.

Collaborate with fellow Team Managers in the System Software Management Team on both short‑ and long‑term strategies for software development.

Drive process improvements, align development methods, and identify synergies across product areas to reduce development time and prevent duplicated efforts.
You will bring
To be successful in this position, we believe that you have the following qualifications.

M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electronics, Physics, Mechatronics, or a related field.

Previous leadership experience in SW R&D, with a proven track record of leading and developing teams.

Strong experience working with agile methodologies within product development, including driving organizational change.

A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on enhancing productivity and internal ways of working.

Solid background in software development within R&D projects.

Experience from the MedTech industry or another regulated sector is considered an advantage.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal.

Fluency in Swedish and English; additional languages are an advantage.
