  • Further develop test setups for pressure sensors in application for medical ventilators.
  • Analyze pressure sensor characteristics relevant to ventilation performance.

Part 2

Purpose of the assignment is to study gas-flow and control in medical ventilators. As the heart of a ventilator, a gas valve consists of several key components, each of which with certain mechanical and/or electrical properties that altogether contribute to ventilation performance.

Problems and Tasks
  • Understand the principle and construction of gas-valves.
  • Further develop test setups for studying the gas-valves.
  • Analyze the complexity of the valve construction relevant to ventilation performance.

Both parts are closely related encouraging good collaboration and independent initiatives. Both parts require hands-on laboratory, separate documentations in English and presentations both in school and at Getinge.
