Job Overview

The Head, CVS Transformation Office & Enterprise Initiatives is accountable for translating the Cardiovascular Surgery (CVS) strategic vision into actionable, measurable, and well-governed execution across the enterprise. This role serves as the central architect and driver of strategy deployment, operating as both a senior strategic partner to leadership and the owner of disciplined execution in a highly regulated environment.

Acting with enterprise-level authority, this leader ensures that strategic priorities are converted into integrated initiative roadmaps, governed decision-making structures, and execution plans that deliver business outcomes while meeting FDA and global quality requirements. The role may lead a team directly and/or operate through significant influence across functions and levels.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

1. Strategy Deployment & Enterprise Execution

  • Own the end-to-end deployment of CVS strategy, translating executive vision and priorities into clear, actionable enterprise initiatives, work plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain integrated CVS initiative roadmaps aligned to enterprise strategy, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and long-range planning cycles.
  • Drive structured execution across complex, cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment between R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Commercial, Finance, and HR.
  • Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure strategic progress, execution effectiveness, and business health.
  • Proactively identify execution risks, interdependencies, and constraints; develop and drive mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure disciplined follow-through, accountability, and benefits realization.

2. CVS Governance Design & Ownership

  • Design, implement, and continuously evolve the CVS governance framework, including decision-making bodies, escalation pathways, prioritization models, and leadership review cadence.
  • Ensure governance structures support effective, compliant, and timely decision-making in a regulated environment.
  • Prepare and facilitate governance forums, ensuring clarity of decisions, ownership, and next steps.
  • Align CVS governance with broader enterprise and Board-level governance expectations.

3. Executive Partnership & Leadership Enablement

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the Vice President of Cardiovascular Surgery and senior leadership team.
  • Anticipate leadership needs and proactively surface insights, risks, and recommendations.
  • Translate strategic direction into executable plans and clearly articulated objectives for functional leaders.
  • Prepare executive- and Board-ready materials, including strategic narratives, dashboards, decision documents, and progress updates.

4. Organizational Leadership & Influence

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships across functions and levels to drive alignment and execution without reliance on formal authority.
  • Influence and align leaders around shared priorities, sequencing, and trade-offs.
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, Regulatory, Clinical, Medical Affairs, and Quality to support workforce planning, budgeting, compliance, and performance management.
  • May directly lead a team of project or program management professionals and/or oversee work through matrixed resources.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Project Management certification preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in strategy deployment, transformation, operations, or enterprise program leadership within a highly regulated industry (medical device, life sciences, or healthcare preferred).
  • Demonstrated success translating strategy into execution across complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Proven experience operating within FDA-regulated and global quality systems.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives and navigating Board-facing initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with or without direct reports through influence and governance.
  • Experience leveraging data, automation, and visualization to support decision-making.

Targeted salary range: $200,000- $235,000, depending upon experience and location + 30% bonus target
