Sr. Contracts Specialist supporting Life Science SSU

 

Job Overview

As a Senior Contract Specialist within the Getinge Commercial Support team, the position is responsible for the preparation, review, delivery and finalization of customer sales contracts in adherence with the US SSU policies and guidelines.  The incumbent will work with Getinge business leaders and their teams by drafting and negotiating healthcare and life science commercial agreements to support the SSU Field Sales Teams.  The position is required to have the ability to coach lesser experienced team members in various aspects of the contract review and management process. The incumbent will have expertise in knowledge and interpretation of contract content and understanding of contract terms and business provisions.

 

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Serve as main point of contact for review of customer paper and non-standard customer requested changes; liaison with Legal, Finance, Sales and other teams as needed to reach resolution on requested changes.
  • Maintain and oversee agreement templates used by the Commercial Support team to ensure accuracy and consistency of terms and conditions.
  • Identify and present recommendations on open contract issues to leadership and collaborate with stake holders on seeking resolutions. 
  • Draft commercial agreement language and negotiate a variety of life science and healthcare agreements with Getinge’s customers and partners, such as General
  • Contractors, Pharma, Biotech, Biomed, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), Healthcare Providers / Hospitals,  Academia, Distributors and Services.
  • Support the development, implementation and on-going management of contract strategies across multiple Getinge business areas. 
  • Ability to interpret contract terms and business provisions for reviewing and redlining both Getinge and customer templates.
  • Review and approve draft language prepared by other Commercial Support team members, including lesser experienced Contract Specialists.
  • Participate and spearhead process improvements for the team as well as team development.
  • Ensure the team’s ability to maintain efficient and effective contract processes and timely completion of requests.
  • Able to proactively collaborate and enhance cross-functional relations with contract stakeholders.
  • Maintain electronic agreement and supporting documents.
  • Develop broad knowledge of Getinge Sales teams and their respective products/services through the preparation of contracts as well as formal and informal learning opportunities.
  • Prepare various customer agreement forms, such as Master agreements, purchase agreements, amendments and other customer correspondence as needed under limited supervision while identifying potential risks associated with terms and conditions.
  • Manage own workload to ensure customer performance expectations are met; proactively engage business team to complete contract renewal cycle.
  • Leverage business experience utilizing business acumen to identify solutions to address customer concerns while aligning to Getinge business objectives.
  • Identify and assist in the implementation/communication of new contract processes as appropriate.
  • Provide customer support for routine questions and inquiries received from internal clients.
  • Recommend/utilize/interpret advanced data and to present documentation and analysis and resolve complex problems.
  • Establish and cultivate an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of assignments.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience required.
  • Proven experience working on Sales related Contracts and applicable knowledge of contract language and its impact.
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Experience in the Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical / Medical Device industries strongly preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Able to apply knowledge of business concepts, procedures and practices and work with Commercial Support leadership to incorporate new processes across the Getinge organization.
  • Ability to comfortably work cross-functionally across all levels in the organization including, with upper management as well as directly with customers.
  • Strong business acumen; ability to exercise good business judgement
  • Able to identify and present recommendations on open contract issues to management and collaborate on seeking resolution.
  • Solves complex problems and provides solutions. Troubleshoots problems.
  • Must be able to work in a high-paced environment handling multiple tasks at the same time; and must maintain confidentiality of projects, legal and business information at all times.
  • Strong written and oral communication and strong command of the English language as relates to proper grammar, punctuation and editing skills as required.
  • Time management skills; ability to handle high volume requests
  • Superior organizational skills to maintain order of files and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and ability to consistently produce a high-quality work product under tight deadlines.
  • Exposure to CRM tools, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, contracting software and/or SAP preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and PowerPoint.

 

Targeted salary range: $90,000- $120,000, depending upon experience and location + 10% bonus target
