Job Overview

 

The Sr. Director, Continuous Improvement, ACT establishes and leads a culture of Excellence in alignment with Acute Care Therapies’ [ACT's] strategy and desired behaviors that simplify and optimize our ways of working resulting in the continuous elevation of the customer and employee experience. 

 

The Head of Continuous Improvement is highly competent as a process leader and uses a variety of skills such as project/process design, leadership, and change management to ensure performance and process development. The person in this position is responsible for using Lean Six Sigma principles or similar, to create, implement, and sustain an ACT Continuous Improvement framework and related governance, drive high impact continuous improvement initiatives, demonstrate financial impact to the organization, and create a platform that recognizes and rewards team members who have demonstrated continuous improvement. This role is involved in planning, scheduling, and implementing continuous improvement activities (such as Kaizen) and held jointly accountable with the Product Area (PA) VPs.

 

The role will collaborate across all ACT PAs, and beyond, to align with other Business Areas (BAs).

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Driving opportunities for process and high impact productivity improvement in ACT.
  • Creating and owning a Continuous Improvement Framework that includes high impact project selection, planning, facilitating, and executing events using Lean Six Sigma tools, or similar, demonstrating financial success as outlined in the business cases, and building a platform that recognizes and rewards team members’ successes.
  • Create a Continuous Improvement platform with clear criteria allowing to objectively select high-impact projects based on submitted business cases.
  • Collaborate with PA finance department to show the financial impact of individual productivity improvement projects throughout execution.
  • Create a platform that recognizes and rewards successes across ACT
  • Collaborate with respective PAs to drive execution of Continuous Improvement projects by:
    • Assessing current and desired states, defining objectives and success criteria, and prioritizing opportunities based on business impact.
    • Establishing implementation plans, governance, and change management approaches to ensure adoption and sustainability.
    • Resolving barriers and monitoring execution to deliver measurable financial and operational outcomes.
  • Teaching, leading, and coaching cross-functional teams on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology, or similar
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across all ACT PA´s and BA´s, ensuring alignment and the exchange of best practices from both internal and external sources.

Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.

Required Technical Experience

 

  • Continuous Improvement working experience of a minimum of 10 years, ideally in a highly regulated environment such as MedTech.
  • Certifications in 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Proficiency in commonly used and specialized software.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including advanced skills with Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in high paced and changing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization.
  • Project management expertise.

Required Education

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Quality improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Continuous Improvement Manager certification.
