Job Overview
Represents the company professionally and ethically as a strategic sourcing representative with primary responsibility for plastic components and assemblies, including injection molded and extruded parts. Promotes a global supply chain strategy to drive cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and quality compliance across the Getinge Group. Partners cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations to support new product introductions, supplier development, and lifecycle management. Role level is Buyer II.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Support consolidation and development of plastics suppliers; maintain preferred supplier list (15%).
- Execute RFQs, benchmarking, and negotiations for assigned parts under category strategy (5%).
- Coordinate supplier onboarding and quoting packages; maintain sourcing documentation (10%).
- Track/expedite First Articles, PPAPs, and validation builds with suppliers and internal teams (10%).
- Support supplier transfers with milestone tracking, inventory planning, and issue escalation (10%).
- Support NPI and engineering changes by aligning specs/drawings and purchasing data (10%).
- Maintain supplier scorecards and drive corrective action follow-up (10%).
- Coordinate and conduct recurring supplier business review meetings (e.g., QBRs/MBRs), including agenda development, KPI/scorecard review, action-item tracking, and escalation as needed (5%).
- Track/report cost savings in PPV/GPIA systems; support finance validation (10%).
- Coordinate ESG assessments and audits for medium‑ and high‑risk suppliers, including tracking corrective actions and ensuring timely closure in alignment with Responsible Sourcing requirements (10%).
- Integrate ESG risk considerations into sourcing decisions, supplier transfers, and ongoing supplier performance management (5%).
Commodity-Specific KPIs (Targets/Measures)
- Annual cost savings delivered (PPV/GPIA): $600K target per year; track quarterly run-rate and realization.
- Tooling & piece-price competitiveness: ≥2 competitive quotes for new tools/parts; should-cost variance within ±5–10%.
- Supplier transfers executed: >2 transfers/year delivered on-time with no production stoppage.
- PPAP/FAI cycle time: median days from PO release to approved FAI/PPAP (target: ≤45 days standard; ≤60 complex tools).
- Quality performance: supplier DPPM < 5000 R12 by 2028 and SCAR closure time (target: ≤120 days SCARs).
- On-time delivery during transfers: ≥90% OTD; inventory exposure within plan (no excess/obsolescence).
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing/sourcing or related supply chain roles.
- Plastics sourcing exposure (injection molding/extrusion) preferred; regulated industry preferred.
- APICS/ISM certification preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Injection molding and extrusion process knowledge, tooling basics, resin families, and cost drivers.
- Regulated industry discipline (GMP/ISO 13485), documentation, and change control awareness.
- Negotiation and supplier relationship management; cross-functional influence.
- Analytical skills (TCO/should-cost, resin index, tooling amortization).
- Project management for RFQs, validations, and transfers.
- MRP/ERP proficiency; SAP preferred; strong Excel skills.
- Buyer II scope: executes within established category strategy; escalates major commercial/technical risks.
Salary range: $107k - $115k
